Welcome ...

…  to the updated web site for basketball in the highlands.

After several months of consultation here and with basketballscotland there is a slightly different shape to the two organizations who are now managing the sport for you across the region.

The Basketball Highland Development Group (BHDG) and Highland Basketball Club (HBC) have been strengthened by the welcome return of some very experienced people who played key roles in the past, plus some new faces to their committees.

Together they form basketballhighland which will eventually become a fully fledged regional basketball association (rba).

BHDG will become the steering group for the rba, whilst HBC will become its operational team .

Our first priority is to encourage and support increased participation across the region, for all age groups and abilities. This is already being pursued with Hoopstars sessions at many schools, schools leagues and tournaments, open training/scrimmage sessions and more structured training for teams competing in national or inter-regional competitions.

The club is fully affiliated to basketballscotland and is run within its regulations and guidelines.

We attempt to promote and develop basketball for players of all ages in the Inverness area.

We fully support and comply with the guidelines of Disclosure Scotland for the protection of young people participating in sport.
